Clever Carly doll speaks both English and Afrikaans. Wow! This is a first for South Africa.
She’s INTERACTIVE, which means that we can communicate with her, by pressing the buttons on her very own infared console. She makes learning letters, numbers and shapes fun!
Press the green button to select which language you want to use. Press her left or right hand to enter ‘teach’ or ‘test’ mode.
- Teach mode: Clever Carly asks your child to press a letter/number/shape: ie: “Find a Letter”. Your child will respond by pressing an entry on the consol. Clever Carly will then confirm the entry: ie: “That’s the letter ‘A’ “.
- Test Mode: Clever Carly asks your child to find a letter/number/shape: ie: “Find the letter ‘A’”. Your child will respond by pressing an entry on the consol. If correct Clever Carly will respond: “That’s right!” If incorrect, Clever Carly will respond: “Whoopsy! Try again!”
Clever Carly is EDUCATIONAL. She knows her letters, numbers and shapes. She can TEACH you, by telling you what letter, number or shape you pressed on the console. Or she can TEST you, by asking you to find a letter, number or shape on the console. If you are as Clever as Carly is, she will say “well done”. If you make a silly mistake, Clever Carly will ask you to try again.

Note to parents : By exposing your child to a second language at an early age, you naturally instil an acceptance and a familiarity with that language. By playing with Clever Carly doll, your child will, from time to time, switch to the second language (out of curiosity, if nothing else). As many of the language phonics are covered in pronouncing letters, numbers and shapes, your child will be learning, while having fun!
